What’s up with Yoga therapy and why might I want it?

In my mind, Yoga therapy is the  process of liberating the natural intelligence of the body to reverse the aching, pain and limitations we feel from age, injury and misuse. Most of us struggle to correct imbalances and problems while never quite realizing that ease in our nervous system and muscles are key to living without pain and with pleasure.

Take a moment and think about all the “I have to” rules you have about maintaining good posture or  creating better alignment. Ask yourself,  how easy does this all feel? Does the integrity in your body have a comfortable feel to it? Or, is the way you are approaching your body create a tension around correcting?  Are you making yourself “sit up”? Or “stand up tall?” Or bring your shoulders back? Are you feeling you need to “hold on” to a particular posture or balance?

If so, I ask you to consider the possibility that there is an easier way. A way that minimizes work and brings a feeling of satisfying  support to your body. Discovering that integrity and ease work hand in hand is the secret to comfortable body longevity.
